Gasworld — December 19, 2022:
It’s been quite a year for New Jersey-based Anova. A new CEO, new products, and a number of awards and recognitions have all led to a very successful 2022. As the industry continues to battle shortages, whether its staff or product, remote tank telemetry solutions are arguably now more important than ever.
For Anova, it hopes to continue its 35-year legacy as a specialist in the market and continue working with key players on a variety of Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) projects and innovations. That said, with a new year, comes new trends and demands, meaning that adaptation will be vital for customer delivery.
Here, in the latest instalment of gasworld’s 12 Day of Content series, we dive into exactly what 2023 may bring, as well as revisiting some of the most exciting growth drivers for remote tank telemetry solutions this year, as we speak to Gregg Berres, Chief Revenue Officer at Anova.
Thank you for taking the time to talk to gasworld today. Why don’t you start off by tell us what 2022 has been like for Anova as a remote tank telemetry solutions specialist…
Many in our industry saw the benefits of tank telemetry rise into sharp focus during the pandemic. As businesses look to optimise the efficiency of their operations and avoid customer runouts, there is a growing demand for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions.
In 2022, we emerged from supply challenges with a new diligence in design and production management. We saw demand increase across industrial gases, particularly in hydrogen, bev carb and in chemicals. We provide customers new and deeper insight into their remote assets. Our advanced analytics optimises scheduling, asset health, and safety. And we are helping our customers better engage with their customers.
How exactly can Anova’s monitoring solutions enhance an industrial gas company?
We can produce a lot of value with the digitalisation of our customers world at their customer’s site. This brings high returns in profit, deeper business intelligence, and reductions in carbon emissions for industrial gas companies. We partner with our customer to deliver insight into daily operations and needs across all end-user sites through our advanced data analytics.
In your opinion, what’s been the most exciting application or growth driver for industrial gases this year?
Across the industry, one of the most exciting growth drivers lies in the distributors realising the necessity of monitoring assets to run an optimal business. With tank telemetry, trip mileage is optimised for fills, along with truck maintenance. We have a growing number of distributor customers in welding and in beverage carbonation.
Aside from many other milestone moments, 2022 saw the start of a new era for Anova, with the appointment of a new CEO back in July. Can you tell us more about this?
Matt is an experienced executive with innovative strategy and knowledge to contribute to Anova’s growth in digitisation for all sectors. It is an exciting time for Anova as we lead the industry in remote monitoring solutions with a new plan and very focused objectives.
What trends do you expect to see in the market next year and what will be your biggest goals?
Hydrogen is already a leading trend and will only grow with the increasing demand for clean energy. Anova is the remote monitoring solution of choice for the five major industrial gas companies for hydrogen assets. It’s a wonderful time to see this market grow and realise its full potential.
In terms of goals, we want to drive value for our customers. We will continue to innovate for the industrial gas industry, providing value along the supply chain.
Finally, in the spirit of the time of year and theme of the series, if you could make one wish for the industrial gases industry, what would it be and why?
For all industrial gas companies to make their business and their customers lives easier by incorporating remote monitoring solutions into their operation. Data enables insights and that has value. At Anova, we have the tools to make data work for customers in very meaningful, profitable, and sustainable ways.
